Chicago Up to $150,000 + Bonus & Benefits Permanent

We are seeking an experienced and driven Associate Director to lead complex real estate and construction projects across the commercial, residential, cultural, and corporate sectors. This leadership role is ideal for a strategic thinker with a strong background in project delivery, stakeholder management, and client service excellence.

As a senior leader, you will be responsible for managing full project lifecycles, mentoring junior team members, and representing the client’s interests from initial feasibility through to completion and handover. You’ll collaborate with developers, architects, contractors, and other consultants to ensure best-in-class project outcomes.

Location: Chicago, IL
Employment Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the delivery of multiple large-scale construction or real estate development projects.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing strategic advice and maintaining strong long-term relationships.
  • Develop project briefs, business cases, budgets, schedules, and risk assessments.
  • Oversee procurement strategies and contract administration, ensuring compliance with local and national regulations.
  • Manage and coordinate project teams, consultants, and contractors to meet agreed timelines and quality standards.
  • Provide mentorship and oversight to junior project managers and support staff.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance, project progress, and client satisfaction.
  • Participate in business development activities, including proposals, bids, and client presentations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, MRICS, LEED) a plus.
  • 5–12 years of relevant experience in project management, preferably within a consultancy or client-side environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading high-profile real estate or construction projects, with ideally some experience in hotel projects, in the Chicago or broader U.S. market.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with a deep understanding of contracts, procurement, and financial management.
  • Exceptional client-facing and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with industry tools such as MS Project, Primavera, or similar scheduling and reporting platforms.

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to work on iconic and innovative projects shaping Chicago’s skyline.
  • Supportive and dynamic team culture focused on professional growth and excellence.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package.
  • Ongoing professional development and leadership opportunities.

If you are a motivated and experienced project management professional ready to take the next step in your career, we encourage you to apply.
