Senior Cost Manager | Construction Consultancy (Chicago)
Salary: $125,000 - $155,000 + Quarterly Bonus
A fast-growing construction consultancy is strengthening its Chicago Cost Management team and is seeking a Senior Cost Manager to help lead delivery and support continued expansion across the Midwest.
This role is ideal for someone looking to step into a high-autonomy position with direct client ownership and a clear route toward Associate Director.
The Opportunity
You will play a key role in building out the Chicago cost management function, delivering projects across corporate interiors, infrastructure, healthcare, residential, life sciences, and data centers. Working directly with Partners and senior leadership, you will gain strong visibility and influence within a business that is actively developing its leadership layer.
Key Responsibilities
You will lead full pre- and post-contract cost management across multiple projects, taking ownership of client relationships and overall commercial delivery. Responsibilities include cost planning, reporting, risk management, and value engineering. You will mentor and support junior team members while contributing to the continued growth and operational development of the Chicago team.
What They’re Looking For
Candidates should have 6-10+ years of experience in cost management or quantity surveying, with a proven ability to run projects independently. A background within a consultancy, owner’s representative environment, or a strong GC cost background is preferred. The team is open to UK, Australian, or US-trained QS profiles. Applicants should be Chicago-based or open to relocation, with visa support available where required.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $125,000 - $155,000 + Bonus + Health Care
