POSITION: Project Manager (Construction, Interiors)

LOCATION: Manhattan, New York

PACKAGE: Up to $165,000 - $185k + industry leading bonus + package

Capstone Property Recruitment Americas are pleased to be working in partnership with a leading mid sized general contracting firm who are widely regarded as one the top GCs in the New York construction market for their specialist sectors. This firm have recently been recognised as one of the top GCs in the interiors market for New York and boast long established partnerships with several F500 clients across the hospitality, technology, life sciences & corporate interior sectors.

Our client is looking for a degree-educated, experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong foundation in architecture or design, ideally having started their career within an architectural or design practice before transitioning into construction delivery. The successful candidate will bring up to 10 years of total industry experience, including approximately the last 5 years operating as a Project Manager within a General Contractor (GC) environment.

Experience leading fast-paced, high-quality interior fit-out projects is essential, with commercial office interiors strongly preferred. This role requires a Project Manager who is comfortable managing multiple concurrent projects and who can take full ownership of the construction process, including budgets, schedules, consultant coordination, and stakeholder management.

Candidates with a design-led background who understand the nuances of working with architects, designers, and end-users — and who can bridge the gap between design intent and construction execution — will be particularly well suited to this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of assigned construction projects, including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and quality control.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring adherence to timelines and financial targets.
  • Serve as the key point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and internal teams, facilitating effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Prepare and present project status reports and updates to clients and stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and resolutions.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, integrity, and accountability among project team members, subcontractors, and partners.
