Cost Manager | Owner’s Representative

Capstone are partnering with a well-established owner’s representative business in New York that continues to grow its Business & Commercial (Variable) team. They are now seeking a Cost Manager to support a diverse portfolio of office fit-outs, retail, hotel, and hospitality projects.

This is not a traditional, siloed cost role. You’ll be embedded in live projects, working closely with business partners, directors, and client teams, with real influence over how projects are costed, tracked, and commercially managed from early planning through delivery.

The Role

As a Cost Manager, you’ll take ownership of project cost management while supporting the wider team with reporting, coordination, and financial insight across fast-moving projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing project budgets, cost plans, forecasts, and cost reporting
• Tracking cost movements, variations, and risk across live projects
• Supporting procurement strategies and commercial decision-making
• Working closely with business partners, project managers, and directors to provide clear cost and commercial insight
• Reviewing invoices, monitoring cash flow, and supporting payment processes
• Assisting with monthly reporting and reconciliations
• Supporting a range of project-related commercial and administrative tasks as required
• Acting as a trusted commercial point of contact across the project team

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in a Cost Manager, Quantity Surveyor, or similar commercial role
• Background in construction or real estate, ideally within office interiors, retail, hospitality, or hotels
• Comfortable working directly with senior stakeholders and clients
• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and pragmatic — willing to get stuck in where needed
• Strong Excel skills and experience with cost management or project controls systems
