Senior Cost Manager – New York
Owner Representative – Tech Client

We are representing a fast-growing, forward-thinking Cost Consultancy headquartered in New York, with an expanding footprint across the US. Since their inception, this firm has achieved rapid success by partnering with some of the world’s leading blue-chip and high-tech clients.

This is a firm that thrives on collaboration, trust, and innovation, an environment that mirrors the culture of the tech companies they often partner with. Their founding leadership remains hands-on and deeply committed to quality and growth, positioning the company on a clear path to becoming one of the USA’s most respected names in Cost Management.

The Role

They are seeking an ambitious, personable, and detail-oriented Senior Cost Manager to join the team in New York, supporting a major tech client on a high-profile program of works. This is more than a typical cost role; it’s an opportunity to join a business early in its journey, help shape its future, and progress faster than in a traditional corporate setting.

The ideal candidate will be confident in a client-facing environment, proactive in communication, and able to build strong relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day cost management activities across assigned projects.
  • Prepare Order of Cost Estimates, Cost Plans, Tender and Contract Documents in line with company processes.
  • Run and document Cost Meetings, including key follow-ups and administrative requirements.
  • Interface with contractors to monitor cost reports, evaluate variations, and resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with the wider team using the firm’s project platform to communicate cost-related matters efficiently.
  • Work closely with Project Managers during the construction phase, reviewing provisional sums and CDP schedules.
  • Support monthly valuations and final account processes, escalating as required to senior leadership.
  • Handle change requests with guidance, ensuring alignment with contractual requirements.
  • Produce and distribute accurate, timely monthly cost reports.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in construction or contract management—preferably on complex or tech-driven projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction and commercial principles.
  • Pre- and post-contract experience essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills—comfortable engaging with senior client stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with project cost platforms.
  • Must have the right to work in the U.S. (U.S. citizenship, transferable visa, or eligibility for an E2/E3 visa).

Why Join?
If you’re looking for a role that offers impact, visibility, and rapid progression, not just another cog-in-the-machine position, this is your chance. You’ll be working alongside a dynamic leadership team, supporting globally recognized clients, and shaping the future of one of the most exciting new names in the US cost consultancy market.
