As they continue to grow our presence across the U.S., they are seeking an experienced and dynamic Electrical Estimator to join their expanding team in Texas. The Role

The Electrical Estimator will support a cost-plus building project by providing Quantity Surveying (QS) services, monitoring construction progress, and validating and refining the Schedule of Rates (SoR). The role includes codifying and systematizing rates for integration with BIM software, ensuring accurate cost tracking, productivity analysis, and collaboration with the on-site Cost and client team.

  • On-site Monitoring and Reporting
    • Perform field monitoring to track construction progress.
    • Prepare weekly progress reports including: Quantities of work completed, Labor, material, and equipment usage analysis, Variance analysis against baseline SoR, Productivity analysis, identifying delays, resource inefficiencies, and sequencing discrepancies.
    • Present reports in collaborative review meetings with Project Manager, client, and on-site Cost team.
  • Schedule of Rates (SoR) Codification and Consulting
    • Analyze and codify the current SoR, breaking down composite rates into labor, material, and plant components.
    • Establish clear, auditable cost components and definitions.
    • Revise and validate rates against field data to ensure accuracy and robustness.
    • Create a standardized SoR structure compatible with automated systems.
  • BIM Integration and Automation
    • Develop a plan to integrate SoR with 5D BIM, mapping cost codes to BIM model elements.
    • Define BIM parameters and attributes for automated cost calculations.
    • Provide guidance on workflow optimization and software modifications to enable automated estimation and progress tracking.
    • Test and validate the integration of SoR with BIM for accurate and repeatable results.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Work closely with client project management and the on-site Cost team to ensure seamless integration and knowledge transfer.
    • Conduct workshops with stakeholders to align on methodology, reporting formats, and automated SoR objectives.
  • Project Management Support
    • Participate in project kick-off meetings to confirm objectives, communication protocols, and review existing documentation.
    • Maintain ongoing monitoring, data collection, reporting, and milestone updates for SoR codification and BIM integration.
