Capstone is working in partnership with one of the world’s renowned independent construction and property consultancies to acquire an Associate level Cost Manager to work on major Hi-Tech projects across North America.

 

Our client is well known in the industry for their technical excellence, prolific schemes, highly trained individuals and project and service delivery. This organisation ensures they remain leaders in the field, continually investing in the development of their people through lifelong learning and structured training. The business currently has offices in New York, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Texas to name a few.

The organisation is currently thriving across the USA and is working on several prolific schemes, large-scale and flagship schemes across various real estate sectors and because of their current success and future pipeline are looking for an experienced Cost Manager to assist in the delivery of various schemes; becoming an integral part of this organisations long term success and growth of the office.

 

About the Role

As an Associate Director, you’ll take the reins on major projects; leading strategy, delivery, and client relationships across multiple portfolios. You’ll shape financial outcomes, mentor teams, and play a vital role in business growth. This is ideal for a seasoned Senior Cost Manager ready to take the next step into leadership.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee cost management services across high-profile, large-scale developments.
  • Manage estimating, budgeting, procurement, and contract administration at a strategic level.
  • Advise clients on cost planning, risk mitigation, and commercial strategy throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support business development efforts, including client presentations and proposal writing.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop cost management teams — fostering professional growth and excellence.
  • Provide thought leadership and high-level insight to clients, driving value and efficiency.


Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in cost management, estimating, or project controls, ideally with consultancy experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and deliver complex projects successfully.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills; capable of advising senior stakeholders.
  • Strong technical background with expertise in tools such as Cost X, Sage, or Procore, and advanced Excel skills.
