About the Opportunity

Our client is a leading project management and advisory consultancy delivering complex commercial real estate and construction projects across a variety of sectors. Following a recent merger with a globally recognized engineering and consulting firm, the organization is entering an exciting period of growth, with plans to significantly expand its San Francisco team over the coming years.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join a growing business at an exciting stage of its development, take ownership of high-profile projects, and build a long-term career within an expanding San Francisco team.

The Role

Our client is seeking a Project Manager with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience to manage projects from inception through completion. Working closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders, you'll be responsible for coordinating successful project delivery across schedule, budget, quality, and client expectations.

The role is well suited to a Project Manager who is comfortable taking ownership of projects while working as part of a collaborative consulting team.

Experience delivering technical, life sciences, laboratory, or other highly serviced facilities is highly desirable. Candidates should also be comfortable managing commercial interiors projects as the firm's technical portfolio continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage projects through all phases of delivery, from planning and procurement through construction and closeout.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients and support the development of strong, long-term client relationships.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, risk registers, and reporting.
  • Manage RFP development, contractor procurement, bid evaluations, and award processes across multiple trades and disciplines.
  • Coordinate architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and client stakeholders.
  • Identify project risks and develop practical solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Monitor project progress against schedule, budget, scope, and quality requirements.
  • Represent and advocate for client interests while maintaining collaborative relationships throughout the commercial construction process.
  • Support junior team members and contribute to the continued growth and development of the San Francisco office.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience within commercial construction, real estate, or consulting.
  • Experience managing projects on behalf of an owner, project management consultancy, architecture firm, engineering firm, or general contractor.
  • Demonstrated experience with procurement, budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Experience managing RFP processes, bid evaluations, and contractor selection.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and client management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.

Preferred

  • Background in Architecture, MEP Engineering, Construction Management, or Project Management consulting.
  • Professional certification or licensure such as PMP, Architect, Professional Engineer, or similar is desirable.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project for scheduling and project planning.
  • Experience delivering life sciences, laboratory, healthcare, mission-critical, or other technically complex facilities.
  • Experience working for a General Contractor is welcomed, provided candidates are comfortable transitioning into a project management consulting environment.

Why Apply?

Joining this team now offers the opportunity to become an integral part of a growing San Francisco office with substantial career progression potential. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of challenging projects, work alongside experienced industry professionals, and develop your expertise across both commercial and technically complex sectors.

As the business continues to expand, successful Project Managers will have significant opportunities to broaden their responsibilities, develop client relationships, and progress into more senior positions within the organization.
