The Opportunity

We are working with a well-established General Contractor in New York City that specialises in delivering high-quality commercial interior fit-outs and renovation projects for a range of prestigious clients.

With a strong reputation in the NYC construction market, a consistent pipeline of projects and long-standing client relationships, the business is looking to appoint an Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager to join its growing team.

The Role

Working closely with Senior Project Managers and site teams, you will be involved in the delivery of commercial construction projects from preconstruction through to completion.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the day-to-day management of commercial interiors and renovation projects.

• Coordinating subcontractors, consultants, architects and internal project teams.

• Managing RFIs, submittals, change orders and project documentation.

• Assisting with project budgets, cost tracking, procurement and scheduling.

• Attending project meetings and maintaining regular communication with clients and stakeholders.

• Monitoring project progress to ensure works are delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard.

• Supporting project closeout, punch lists and handover activities.

Requirements

• Previous experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer or Project Manager within the construction industry.

• Experience working for a General Contractor, ideally within the NYC market.

• Exposure to commercial interiors, corporate office fit-outs, renovations or similar projects.

• Good understanding of construction processes, project coordination and subcontractor management.

• Familiarity with RFIs, submittals, change orders and project schedules.

• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.

• Experience using Procore, Bluebeam or similar construction management software would be advantageous.
