Capstone Americas is partnering with a leading GC firm consistently ranked among the top contractors in New York. The firm is highly regarded for its award-winning work and long-standing relationships with Fortune 500 clients across financial services, technology, life sciences, and corporate interiors.


Due to continued project wins and a strong forward pipeline, the company is expanding its field leadership team and seeking an experienced Superintendent. This role is suited to a Superintendent with a proven track record delivering high-quality commercial interior projects in occupied environments. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and client satisfaction.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Oversee all daily field operations, including site safety, construction activities, progress tracking, quality control, housekeeping, and daily reporting.
  • Provide leadership and direct supervision of site personnel, including assistant superintendents, laborers, and other construction staff.
  • Manage project schedules, including preparation of weekly two-week look-ahead schedules.
  • Proactively coordinate subcontractors to ensure adherence to project schedules and avoid unnecessary costs.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of project objectives, including financial targets, logistics, phasing, milestones, and inspections.
  • Ensure all work complies with design documents, specifications, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with the project team regarding changes, site conditions, subcontractor coordination, and project direction.
  • Partner with project management to maintain accurate and up-to-date project schedules.
  • Lead weekly project and subcontractor coordination meetings.
  • Manage the RFI process, including issue identification, solution development, tracking, and closeout.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by understanding client expectations, preferences, and organizational culture.
  • Promote positive and professional subcontractor relationships across all project phases.
  • Oversee punch list activities to ensure timely and thorough completion.
  • Support project closeout and warranty processes in coordination with the project manager.

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of five years’ experience as a Superintendent, within high-end commercial interiors.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex projects in occupied environments.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple fast-track projects simultaneously.
  • Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting commercial construction drawings and specifications.
  • OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety and Health Certification.
  • 4-Hour Supported Scaffold User Certification.
