MEP & Base Build Superintendent

The firm is widely recognized for delivering complex, high-quality projects and maintains long-standing relationships with Fortune 500 clients across financial services, technology, life sciences, and large-scale commercial developments.
Due to a robust project pipeline and continued growth in large-scale base building and technically complex work, the firm is expanding its field leadership team and seeking an experienced MEP & Base Build Superintendent. This role is suited to a senior-level superintendent with deep expertise overseeing MEP systems and base building scopes on complex commercial construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all MEP and core-and-shell activities on-site, ensuring safety, quality, schedule adherence, and seamless integration across trades.
Oversee all daily field operations related to MEP and base building construction, including site safety, sequencing, quality control, and productivity.
Lead and supervise field staff, including assistant superintendents, foremen, and labor personnel.
Manage MEP and base build schedules, including preparation and execution of weekly two-week look-ahead schedules.
Coordinate MEP subcontractors, base build trades, vendors, and inspectors to ensure alignment with project schedules and milestones.
Maintain a detailed understanding of project scope, logistics, phasing, sequencing, commissioning requirements, and inspections.
Ensure all MEP and base building work complies with design documents, specifications, codes, and safety standards.
Work closely with project management to maintain accurate, up-to-date schedules that reflect current site conditions and trade coordination.
Proactively identify and resolve constructability issues, clashes, and sequencing conflicts across MEP and architectural/structural interfaces.
Lead weekly MEP coordination and subcontractor meetings.
Manage the MEP RFI process, including issue identification, solution development, tracking, and closeout.
Maintain effective communication with clients, consultants, inspectors, and internal project teams.
Promote professional and productive relationships with all subcontractors and vendors.
Oversee MEP punch list activities, testing, commissioning, and support project turnover and closeout.
Minimum of five to seven years’ experience as a Superintendent with a strong focus on MEP and base building scopes.
Proven experience delivering complex base build projects with significant mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
Strong background coordinating multiple MEP trades on fast-track schedules.
Experience working in dense urban environments and occupied or phased buildings preferred.
Advanced ability to read and interpret MEP, architectural, and coordination drawings.
OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety and Health Certification (OSHA 30 preferred).
4-Hour Supported Scaffold User Certification.
