About the Opportunity

Capstone USA have partnered with a leading consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their New York City team. 

This position offers the opportunity to lead estimating assignments on complex, high-value construction projects while serving as a trusted advisor to clients and project stakeholders. The successful candidate will take ownership of cost strategies, oversee estimate preparation, provide leadership to junior staff, and support clients in making informed financial decisions throughout the project lifecycle.

This role is ideal for a proactive estimating professional who enjoys leading teams, building client relationships, and delivering strategic cost solutions on challenging projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates across all project phases, from concept through construction documentation.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and project information to develop comprehensive pricing strategies and quantity take-offs.
• Develop and manage project budgets, cost plans, and value engineering recommendations.
• Maintain expert-level knowledge of market conditions, pricing trends, labor rates, and project cost drivers.
• Collaborate closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams to align project scope and financial objectives.
• Mentor junior staff and review estimates to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality control.
• Lead client meetings and confidently present cost strategies, risks, opportunities, and recommendations.
• Maintain and enhance benchmarking databases while driving process improvements and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
• 5+ years of estimating or cost management experience within the construction or real estate industry.
• Experience leading estimates on large-scale or complex projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, building systems, materials, and market conditions.
• Advanced knowledge of cost planning, benchmarking, value engineering, and estimating methodologies.
• Proficiency with estimating software such as Bluebeam, OST, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with CSI MasterFormat and Uniformat classification systems.
• Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and client relationships simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

• RICS, MRICS, or similar professional certification.
• Experience across commercial, residential, hospitality, healthcare, life sciences, infrastructure, or mixed-use developments.
