Capstone Americas is partnering with one of New York’s leading general contractors to appoint an experienced Senior Estimator for its growing Manhattan office.
Widely regarded as one of the top GCs in the city, the business has long-standing relationships with several Fortune 500 clients across the investment, healthcare, technology, retail and corporate interiors sectors.
With a strong pipeline of major projects, this is an excellent opportunity to join a market-leading contractor known for best-in-class delivery, long-term client partnerships and a commitment to excellence.
The role will include:
• Leading estimates and bids from initial review through final submission
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and proposal requirements
• Attending pre-bid and design meetings
• Preparing schematic, discipline and final estimates
• Producing quantity take-offs and detailed cost plans
• Levelling subcontractor proposals for bids and GMPs
• Assessing project risks, scope gaps and commercial opportunities
• Using historical cost data, productivity reports and market intelligence to build accurate pricing
• Supporting negotiations with clients, subcontractors and internal teams
• Maintaining strong relationships with clients and the subcontractor market
Requirements:
• A minimum of 15 years’ estimating experience within the construction industry
• Strong experience across interiors projects
• Proven experience leading bids and preparing GMP estimates
• Excellent knowledge of labour, material and unit pricing
• Experience using On-Screen Takeoff or similar estimating software
• Strong subcontractor relationships and market knowledge
• New York construction market experience is highly preferred
• Candidates must be US citizens and currently based in the United States
