Director / Associate Director – Data Centres (Cost Management)
Locations: New York, Boston, Chicago, or San Francisco
Salary: Up to $200,000 + Bonus + Benefits

An established and growing cost consultancy is seeking a senior Data Centre professional to lead and build its Data Centre cost management offering across the United States. This is a strategic leadership opportunity for an experienced Cost Manager with a strong track record in mission-critical environments who is motivated by the chance to shape a service line, influence growth strategy, and build a team. Candidates from top end of SCM to Director level will be considered.

The firm has a strong reputation across the built environment and is investing significantly in expanding its presence in high-growth sectors, with Data Centres identified as a priority market. You will join a leadership team that values autonomy, entrepreneurial thinking, and long-term career development.

This role is ideally suited to someone currently operating at Senior QS, Associate, or Director level within a consultancy or contractor environment who wants to step into a visible leadership position with genuine influence over market direction.

The Role – Director / Associate Director, Data Centres

You will be responsible for establishing and leading the Data Centre cost management capability across the US market, working closely with senior leadership to drive client engagement and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of Data Centre cost management services
• Build and manage relationships with key clients, developers, and contractors
• Support business development and sector growth initiatives
• Provide commercial leadership across complex mission-critical projects
• Mentor and develop junior team members as the function grows
• Contribute to strategic planning and market positioning

Minimum Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering cost management services on Data Centre projects
• Background in a consultancy, contractor, or client-side commercial environment
• Ability to operate at a senior level with clients and stakeholders
• Strong commercial acumen and leadership capability
• Currently based in the United States

Preferred Experience

• Experience leading or building a sector, team, or service line
• Exposure to hyperscale or large-scale mission-critical developments
• Established industry relationships within the Data Centre sector
