Assistant Project Manager  –  Owner’s Representative

Location: Chicago, IL
Salary: $100,000 – $110,000  +  Bonus

About the role

Capstone Recruitment USA is supporting a leading global project management consultancy on the delivery of one of Chicago’s most high-profile developments – the $1Bn redevelopment of a major development.

This role sits within an Owner’s Representative team acting on behalf of a global technology occupier. The successful candidate will join a lean, high-performing group providing hands-on support across design, construction, and closeout phases.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with 2–3 years’ experience to gain exposure to a complex, design-led, city-defining project while working closely with senior stakeholders, developers, designers, and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Support day-to-day delivery across design and construction phases
• Track project actions, deliverables, and milestones
• Coordinate design changes and construction progress across stakeholders
• Assist with project closeout, including documentation and reporting
• Manage punch lists (façade and core & shell focus)
• Monitor site progress and follow up on outstanding issues
• Attend site visits and engage with contractors and consultants
• Support client-facing reporting and updates

Candidate profile

• 2–3 years’ experience in construction, project management, or consultancy
• Background as Project Engineer / Site Engineer or architecture/design
• Exposure to commercial or large-scale projects
• Core & shell experience preferred (façade experience a plus)
• Strong organisational and coordination skills
• Confident communicator with senior stakeholders
• Proactive and detail-focused approach
