About the Role

As the Business Development Director, you will drive growth and expand the client base, taking ownership of identifying and securing new business opportunities. You will build and nurture relationships across the industry, collaborate closely with internal teams, and ensure the company continues to secure high-profile, high-value projects.

This role is suited to a dynamic, well-networked professional with a strong track record in construction business development and a deep understanding of the New York market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to achieve revenue targets and strengthen market presence.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, and relationship building.

  • Build and maintain relationships with developers, architects, engineers, brokers, and other industry stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with project management and estimating teams to deliver competitive proposals and bids.

  • Lead client negotiations and secure favorable contracts.

  • Stay ahead of market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to capture emerging opportunities.

  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows, promoting brand visibility and thought leadership.

  • Provide regular pipeline updates and market insights to the Leadership Board.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).

  • Minimum of 10 years’ business development experience within the construction industry.

  • Established network and proven relationships within the New York construction market.

  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of closing high-value contracts.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze market dynamics and spot opportunities.

  • Self-driven, results-oriented, and motivated by achieving ambitious growth targets.
