They have a stacked project pipeline and so the firm is expanding its finance and accounting team. 

The Role

This is an Assistant Project Accountant position supporting a Senior Project Accountant on large-scale commercial interior and healthcare projects. Think exposure to complex, high-value work without being thrown in the deep end solo. You’ll be hands-on, learning fast, and building a rock-solid foundation in construction project accounting.

Key Responsibilities

You’ll assist the Senior Project Accountant with:

• Processing Accounts Payable invoices and supporting payment cycles
• Assisting with project budget setup and maintenance
• Supporting the Owner Billing process
• Helping manage intercompany invoices, payments, and reconciliations
• Assisting with monthly cost reports and financial close activities
• Ensuring compliance with internal accounting policies
• Communicating with vendors and internal project teams
• Maintaining organized financial and project documentation
• Assisting with contract reconciliation
• Supporting cost and revenue analysis

Experience & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2-4 years of project accounting experience (construction industry strongly preferred)
• Exposure to projects $10M+ is a plus, not a dealbreaker
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Excel and experience with CMiC preferred
• Collaborative mindset, this role works closely with senior accountants and project teams
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Proactive, dependable, and not afraid to ask questions (that’s how you learn)
